Isn't it nifty? Raffi is 50!
That's right, St. Raphael Nursery School was founded in 1969, so it's our golden anniversary! We're inviting our community to walk down Memory Lane with us as we mark this milestone in various ways. The celebration will be both virtual ("remember when" photos and videos posted on Facebook and Instagram and here on the SRNS website) as well as physical (a timeline displayed in the school, for instance, composed of photos, art projects, and other SRNS memorabilia from yesteryear). Of course, it wouldn't be a 50th celebration without a party, so save June 1 for the big event! Details below on how to submit your photos and how to help get the word out about this momentous occasion!
June 1 Celebration!
We're celebrating our golden anniversary with a party! Add Saturday, June 1, to your calendar: We'll meet at 5 p.m. Mass, followed by milestone festivities in the Trumpet Room and outside (weather permitting)! All are welcome—St. Raphael Nursery School graduates, parents, teachers, staff, and friends of SRNS! Let us know you'll be there by clicking on the RSVP link or by filling out the form below, and tell your SRNS friends!
Spread the Word About the #SRNS50th!
Help us get the word out about our 50th celebration. The more memories and photos we can collect, the better. How?
Camping Out to Register? No Way!
Yes way! "Back in the day," parents slept overnight to get their children into SRNS! Fortunately, the preschool transitioned to online enrollment in 2010. Enjoy this Fox 5 News report from 2007 about the camping-out phenomenon, shared with us by Michelle Aldridge, one of the parents interviewed in the piece.
Who Drew Raffi? She Did!
In 2015, we started on a mission to find the person who drew “Raffi,” the familiar children’s drawing in the logo for SRNS. In 2019, we found her. Meet Elizabeth Stanislav—whose drawing was chosen to be on tote bags and T-shirts 43 years ago—and read the story of how we found her.
