SRS Tuition is All Inclusive

When developing the tuition structure at St. Raphael School, the administration wanted to make it easy for families to budget and not be surprised by monthly requests for fees, fundraising, and other charges. When comparing our tuition with that of other Catholic schools in the area, be sure to consider how our tuition structure differs.

At St. Raphael School:

  • There is no mandatory fundraising.

  • Field trips are included in the price of tuition.

  • School supplies are provided by St. Raphael’s. No list is sent home for purchases prior to the school year.

  • Although participation is strongly encouraged and we would love your involvement, there are no mandatory volunteer hours, and you are certainly not charged for failing to meet a volunteering quota.

  • Books are provided by St. Raphael’s and are not a separate purchase requirement.

  • No “office supply tax” will be incurred. You will not be asked to deliver reams of paper and other supplies for the office. We ask that you just deliver your children on time for school.

Note: Our optional hot lunch program, before/after care, middle-school technology deposit, and the eighth-grade graduation fee are not included in the tuition.

Tuition Policy 2024-25

  • The tuition for the 2024-25 school year is $10,700

  • Families with more than one student enrolled in Grades K-8 receive $500 in tuition assistance for each additional child’s tuition.

  • Eighth grade: $250 graduation fee helps defer the costs of the High School Placement Test course, class overnight trip, and graduation dinner.

  • Middle school: Each family pays a $250 technology deposit. After the technology items are returned in good condition, the deposit will be refunded or applied toward the eighth-grade graduation fee.

  • Tuition payment is the financial responsibility of the family or legal guardian. A non-refundable deposit of $2,000 is made at the time of acceptance for new students. For returning students, the first payment of $2,000 is made when confirming re-enrollment by the beginning of April. TADS, our admissions and tuition management system, offers a range of payment schedules and options to meet your needs. Details regarding TADS are sent in early June, and families are expected to complete their agreements on TADS by the beginning of July.

  • There is an obligation to pay tuition for the entire school year.

Tuition Assistance

As noted on the Archdiocese of Washington Catholic Schools website, the ADW works hard to keep Catholic education as affordable as possible. To help families, several tuition assistance programs are available through the archdiocese and other private organizations.

Additionally, St. Raphael Parish will also consider individual family needs and make tuition grants at the discretion of the pastor. All families requesting tuition assistance from the parish must complete the TADS financial aid form first. Please contact the school office at 301-762-2143 for more information on tuition assistance.

** NOTE: The Archdiocese of Washington 2024-25 Tuition Assistance Program application for K-Grade 8 opens on Monday, October 2, 2023. The application deadline is Friday, February 16, 2024.
