
Teri is the founding principal of St. Raphael School. She has a M.Ed. from Marymount University, a B.A. from Immaculata College and has post-graduate courses from Penn State, Trinity College, University of Virginia and Loyola College. Teri has been director of St. Raphael’s Nursery School since 1990. As a teacher, she taught grades 3, 4, 6 and 8. She has substituted in all grades from pre-school through junior high. She is certified for the Archdiocese of Washington as a catechist and conducted sacramental preparation classes in the dioceses of Washington, Arlington and Philadelphia.
A Philadelphia native, Teri and her husband Dick have lived in the area for more than 25 years. They have three children, Maureen, Richie and Meghan.
Besides directing the Nursery School, Teri coordinates St. Raphael Parish's baptism program. She is part of the Archdiocesan Early Childhood Committee, NAEYC, NCEA, and volunteers as a Eucharistic Minister.
Cathy is a graduate of Trinity College in Washington, DC with a degree in Social Work and Education. She is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Reading Instruction at Johns Hopkins University in Rockville. She has taught at the primary grade level for over ten years, but has also worked in Resource Programs at the Middle School Level as well. In her career in Maryland she has held teaching positions at St. Elizabeth’s School and St. Bartholomew School in Bethesda. Cathy is a native New Jerseyan (a “Jersey Girl”) and relocated to the Washington, DC area 15 years ago.

Karen is a University of Maryland graduate, with a degree in Elementary Education. Her teaching experience includes second grade at Our Lady of Lourdes School, third grade at St. Elizabeth School and third grade at Spring Hill Elementary School in the Fairfax County Public School system. Currently, Karen is the first grade teacher at St. Raphael School. She is a member of the Board of Trustees, serving as the chair of the Mission Effectiveness Committee for the Connelly School of the Holy Child.
Karen and her husband Chuck are native Washingtonians. They have raised four children, Katie, Nicole, Scott and Joanna in Darnestown, Maryland.

In her career, Helen worked with 3 and 4 year olds in SRNS and spent 12 years working in kindergarten at St. Elizabeth School. Helen was born in Prince Frederick, Maryland and attended Longwood College. She graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education. Helen taught in Calvert County grades 3 and 5 before turning her attention to her three sons. Ben is 31 and married to Becky; Drew is 28; and Chris is 22. Ben and Becky are expecting their first child in November! Helen’s husband Jim is retired from the Government and currently works for Washington Group International.

Anne is a native Washingtonian who grew up in Kensington. She is a graduate of Catholic University where she received a B.A. in accounting. She and her husband Jorge live in Darnestown with their three children, Nicholas (19), Andrea (17) and Cristina (13) all of whom graduated from SRNS. Nick will be a sophmore at Elon, Andi will be a senior at Visitation and Cristina will be in 8th grade at St. Elizabeth. Anne spent 9 years teaching at SRNS and enjoys assisting in the the first grade classroom.

Mary grew up in Potomac and graduated with a B.A. degree from Marymount University. She and her husband, Bill, live in Rockville with their two children. Sara will be a senior at Holy Child and William will be a sophmore at Gonzaga. Both were graduates of St. Raphael Nursery School. Mary has experience in Nursery School and Kindergarten. She has been part of our teaching family since 1999.
